This is an exciting wine club score! Haven’t cracked either of these two open yet, but I’m excitedly plotting the food I’m going to eat with them. From Dry Creek Valley, California, this Sauvignon Blanc is supposed to have aromas of “cantaloupe, mango, citrus, kiwi” and pair well with fish tacos, which is my new favorite food.
The red is a blend of predominately Zinfandel (82%), a wine I shy away from since it’s usually so robust and heavy and would not pair well with my vegetable-bean-pasta-fish-taco diet. But at $40, this is the most I’ve ever spent on a single bottle of wine so my expectations are super high. A recommended cheese pairing is Gruyere, so I think it’ll work out.
